NCW Libraries is excited to welcome the community into the new Cashmere Public Library for a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will feature remarks by public officials, local authors, crafts for teens and kids, live music, door prizes, and more.
Located in Riverside Center, the new library offers expanded spaces, improved accessibility, and new opportunities for learning, connection, and community engagement.
Here is the Grand Opening schedule:
10 a.m.: Opening remarks
10-11:30 a.m.: Teen and Kids Crafts
12 to 1 p.m. Live music by Nathaniel Weakley and Steve Clem
12 to 2 p.m.: Local author mall featuring Joyce Williams, Andrew Rowe, KK Weakley, Janée J. Baugher, Pat West Turner, Jessica Cannon and Rollie Schmitten.
We invite the community to join us in celebrating the beautiful new library. Explore the new space, browse the collections, pick up holds, and enjoy the expanded amenities designed with community input. The new library features expanded collections and seating, a redesigned children’s area focused on play and early literacy, dedicated tween and teen spaces, meeting and study rooms, improved accessibility, and flexible gathering areas for community use.
The project represents a partnership between the City of Cashmere and NCW Libraries. More than 570 community members participated in the planning process, helping shape the design and priorities for the new facility.
