The wait is almost over! NCW Libraries is excited to welcome the community into the new Cashmere Public Library beginning Tuesday, July 7, with a soft opening at its new home at 201 Riverside Drive in Cashmere. Located in Riverside Center, the new library offers expanded spaces, improved accessibility, and new opportunities for learning, connection, and community engagement.
Following several weeks of moving, setup, and preparation, library staff are ready to begin serving the community in the new space while final details continue to be completed. Visitors are invited to stop in, explore the new library, browse collections, pick up holds, and enjoy the expanded amenities designed with community input.
“This new library was built with the Cashmere community in mind,” said Lisa Lawless, Branch Librarian for the Cashmere Public Library. “We’re thrilled to finally open the doors and welcome people into a space that offers more opportunities to learn, connect, and grow.”
The new library features expanded collections and seating, a redesigned children’s area focused on play and early literacy, dedicated tween and teen spaces, meeting and study rooms, improved accessibility, and flexible gathering areas for community use.
The project represents a partnership between the City of Cashmere and NCW Libraries. More than 570 community members participated in the planning process, helping shape the design and priorities for the new facility.
While the library will begin serving patrons on July 7, staff will continue preparing for a community-wide Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, August 8. The event will feature special activities, opportunities to explore the new building, and a chance to celebrate this exciting investment in the future of library service in Cashmere.
