Family passes to visit historic Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee are now available for free checkout from all NCW Libraries branches.
Each pass provides unlimited entry to two adults and any children in the household during the two-week checkout period. This year, NCW Libraries has 40 family passes to check out.
Any library card holder aged 18 and older whose library account is in good standing can check out a pass and pick it up at their community library.
Ohme Gardens opens for the season on April 15 and is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., through the end of summer. The library passes provide entry during regular operating hours and not for special after-hours events.
The nine-acre garden at the north end of Wenatchee features native flowers, alpine meadows, ponds and waterfalls, and forested paths, as well as benches to enjoy stunning views of the Wenatchee Valley.
The gardens got its start in 1929, when the Ohme family purchased the land for an orchard and private retreat. The interest of family, friends and community members prompted the family to open their oasis to the public. Chelan County now owns and operates the site.
