We are excited to announce the start of our new Lucky Day collection at six libraries. Do you love reading newly released books or watching the latest movies? Then this collection is for you!
The Lucky Day collection puts newly released books and DVDs into our library branches directly, rather than to people who have placed those materials on hold. So instead of waiting weeks for new stuff to become available, you could walk into your local library and pick something up right away — if you’re lucky!
We are starting the week of Sept. 7 at six libraries as a trial run — Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Omak, Okanogan, Quincy and Ephrata — and will eventually expand the program to all 30 libraries. Initially the books will be only adult titles — both fiction and non-fiction — that are bestsellers in high demand. New DVDs for all ages will be included too.
New titles will be added as they become available, and the collection will vary from branch to branch.
The first round of Lucky Day books include new Stephen King, Debbie Macomber, Daniel Silva, Louise Penny, Danielle Steele, James Patterson, Matt Haig, James Lee Burke, Sandra Brown, Stuart Woods, Peter Heller, Paula Hawkins and more!
The new movies include Wrath of Man, In the Heights, A Quiet Place Part II, Godzilla Vs. Kong, Promising Young Woman, and Queen Bees.
The checkout time for Lucky Day material is a little shorter — 14 days for books and seven days for DVDs — and each library card holder is limited to checking out two books and two movies at a time from this collection.
Visit one of the six pilot locations this week and test your luck!
