La Semana de los Libros Prohibidos es un evento anual celebrado por bibliotecarios, educadores, autores, editores, libreros y lectores que resalta el valor del acceso libre y abierto a la información.
La Semana de los Libros Prohibidos cuenta con el apoyo de una coalición de organizaciones dedicadas a la libertad de expresión, entre las que se incluyen la Asociación Estadounidense de Bibliotecas, la Sociedad Estadounidense de Periodistas y Autores, el Gremio de Autores, el Consejo del Libro Infantil, la Fundación Libertad para Leer, la Fundación Nacional del Libro y más.
