La fundación OverDrive website y el Aplicación Libby have improved the process for hold suspensions to reduce wait times for eBooks and eAudiobooks.

This change will apply to all digital holds borrowed through the Overdrive website o la Aplicación Libby.

The change is designed so books will make their way to readers who are ready to enjoy them. That means waitlists move more quickly, and more stories get read.

What’s Changing?

With this update, you no longer need to choose a specific end date for a hold suspension. Instead, you can manually unsuspend a hold when you are ready for it.

In Libby, if you have existing holds, you will see a notice about this change on your "Reserva screen. If you don’t have holds, you will see this update if you choose to suspend a hold in the future.

If you miss your hold on its first delivery, it will be suspended until you unsuspend it. It will no longer unsuspend automatically after 7 days.

Holds will now be canceled if they are suspended for 365 days in a row.

The term “Deliver Later” has been replaced by “Suspend.” Now, anytime you want to delay getting a hold – before or after it’s delivered – you’ll suspend it.

Libby Help and OverDrive Help have been updated to reflect these changes.
