Starting in January, the Wenatchee Public Library, in partnership with the NCW Tech Alliance, will offer free, in-person Tech Help sessions designed to help community members feel more confident and capable using everyday technology.

These weekly, 30-minute appointments connect community members with a local tech professional who can help with smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and are ideal for adults and older adults looking for practical, approachable support.

“This Tech Help program directly supports our goal of expanding digital equity and reducing barriers to information and services,” said Ash Kunz, Digital Literacy and Learning Manager for NCW Libraries. “Bridging the digital divide means more than providing access to computers or Wi-Fi. It also means offering personalized guidance and skills people can use in meaningful ways. Through this partnership with NCW Tech Alliance, participants can build confidence, learn to use technology safely and efficiently, and gain skills that support communication, employment, and access to essential services.”

During a Tech Help session, participants can receive assistance with:

  • Learning basic device functions such as settings, updates, storage
  • Getting started with email, apps, and online accounts
  • Understanding internet browsing, safety, and privacy
  • Downloading and using library digital resources
  • Troubleshooting common issues like slow devices, notifications, or connectivity

“Technology is part of everyday life, helping people manage appointments, apply for jobs, stay connected with family, and find reliable information. But it only works when it feels safe and truly useful. Tech Help appointments offer a welcoming place to ask questions, learn at their own pace, and leave with one or two clear wins they can use right away,” said Jennifer Walker, Tech Engagement Specialist, an American Connection Corps member serving with the NCW Tech Alliance.

Tech Help sessions begin Tuesday, January 6, 2026, and will continue weekly through April. Appointments are available between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM in the Lions Club Conference Room at the Wenatchee Public Library.

Registration is required and available through the online calendar at www.ncwlibraries.org. When registering, participants are encouraged to share a brief description of what they’d like help with so staff can come prepared.

This program is offered by NCW Libraries’ Digital Literacy and Learning Department and NCW Tech Alliance. NCW Libraries’ digital literacy initiatives focus on ensuring community members have the skills, confidence, and support needed to navigate an increasingly digital world. NCW Tech Alliance works to bring people and technology resources together to support entrepreneurs, STEM education, and technology adoption in North Central Washington.
