The Royal City Library is temporarily closing on June 9, 2025 as we prepare to move into a brand-new, expanded space.
The move is the result of the Friends of the Royal City Library’s building project as well as NCW Libraries Reimagining Spaces Project. This move demonstrates the incredible power of community collaboration and the enduring value of public libraries in rural communities. During the temporary closure, we will be packing up the current library, moving to the new space, and settling in. Our IT Team will be installing technology and equipment,
What’s coming:
- A spacious 4,000 square foot building – over three times our current size!
- A modern community meeting room, dedicated kids’, teen’s, and adult’s areas, and a local history collection.
- Improve accessibility with more parking, enhanced lighting, fresh new shelving and furniture.
- An exterior green space for summer programming with gorgeous views.
When You Can Visit:
- Closing: June 9, 2025 at our current location.
- Reopening: Mid to Late July at the new location.
What You Can Do:
While the building is closed, our online resources remain fully available – libros electrónicos, audiolibros, databases, revistas digitales, and more. Royal City Library patrons holds will automatically be default to the Moses Lake Library, but everyone is welcome to update their delivery settings to Mail Order, or any other NCW Libraries branch location during the closure.
We are IMMENSLEY grateful for the Royal City Friends of the Library, local donors, and community members whose vision, action, and funding have made this project possible. Your generous support and enthusiasm has helped us shape a library that will serve Royal City for generations to come.
Stay tuned to the Royal City Facebook Page for sneak-peek tours, move updates, and a grand opening celebration once we land in our new home!
