While the weather outside might be frightful, Winter Reading is so delightful! For many, the winter months are long, cold, and dreary, and we can’t wait to see them come to an end. Waiting it out can be a challenge, but we have some good news! Whether you’re off on an adventure
to a tropical island, traipsing through history, or dueling it out on the high seas, reading can transport you anywhere you might want to go – even if that’s just anywhere but here!
And, to make things more exciting, you and everyone you know, can participate in NCW Libraries’ Programa de lectura de invierno! Our Winter Reading Program is simple and fun – there’s no registration, you set your own reading goals, each book you read counts toward our community reading goals, and you can share and talk about the books you’re reading with your community online and at your local library! For fans of reading trackers, you can pick up a paper reading tracker at your closest local library, or you can track your reading in our library reading app, Beanstack (free on all mobile and web devices). Winter Reading runs from December 1st – January 31st, and ALL reading counts!
So, our big question for you is…are you ready to READ? We know we are! To get you started, check out some of our staff suggestions for our first theme: Get Me Out of Here – stories set in far-flung locations that will have you feeling like you just took a much-needed vacation! For more staff reading suggestions, check out our upcoming Readers’ Advisory blog posts and videos, airing weekly on Tuesdays, or grab a copy of our Your Next Read newsletter the next time you’re at your local library!
