Several of our libraries will be celebrating Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day during the first week of May.

Free Comic Book Day

On Saturday, May 5, you can pick up free comics during open hours — while supplies last — at the following libraries:

  • Cashmere
  • Chelan
  • Curlew
  • Ephrata
  • George
  • Moses Lake
  • Omak
  • Oroville
  • Republic
  • Soap Lake
  • Twisp

Star Wars Day

What started as a pun shared by Star Wars fans on May 4 (May the 4th Be With You) has now become an annual celebration. The following libraries will be
hosting activities that day:

  • Wenatchee: trivia, coloring pages, photo booth, and a raffle drawing for everyone who comes in costume. Also, a Star Wars themed
    baby/toddler story time at 10 a.m.; Jedi training at 11 a.m., Chewbacca bookmark craft from 1 to 3 p.m., and a showing of the movie Star
    Wars: The Last Jedi at 3 p.m.
  • Cashmere: Make beaded lightsabers, takes pictures at the selfie station, Jedi training and Princess Leia cupcakes from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
  • Okanogan: Trivia and crafts from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Republic: Crafts and activities from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
