The spooky season starts at the library in October!

Many of our libraries will be offering Halloween-themed story times, crafts, pumpkin decorating, movies, trick-or-treating and participating in community trunk-or-treat events.

Here’s a roundup of what’s happening so far. Be sure and check back as this list will be updated:

Chelan County

Cashmere Library: The library will be participating in the Haunted Village at the Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village, Oct. 31 from 2-5 p.m.

Leavenworth Library: The Leavenworth Friends of the Library will be hosting a Halloween party on Oct. 31. In addition to trick or treating, there will be a spooky story time, green-screen photo booth, crafts, and other activities.

Manson Library: The library will offer trick-or-treating for candy all month long during open hours, and a pumping painting craft on Oct. 4 during the open house.

Wenatchee: The library will offer an Alebrije workshop and movie on Oct. 19 from 2-4:45 p.m. to celebrate the Day of the Dead; and a beaded pumpkin craft for kids on Oct. 31 at 1:30. The library will also participate in the Wenatchee Wild Howl-oween event on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.

Douglas County

Waterville: The library will offer programs throughout the month to make Halloween props, and will once again be transformed into the Mysterious Swamp on Halloween day, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., with trick-or-treating and other treats.

Grant County

Coulee City: The library will have a Halloween Crafternoon on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. and will participate in the Main Street trick-or-treating on Oct. 31.

Ephrata: The library will have a booth set up during Ephrata’s downtown trick-or-treat event from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. Grab some candy and a free book for kids.

Moses Lake: The library will be offering Not-So-Scary Halloween on Oct. 25th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, in partnership with the Moses Lake Community Coalition for familiies; Halloween crafts for families on Oct. 31 from 4-5:30 p.m., and hosting a Spooky Movie Night on Oct. 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for ages 13+.

Soap Lake: The library will have a spooky story time on Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. and will be participating in the trunk-or-treat event at Smokiam Beach on Oct. 31.

Okanogan County

Brewster: The library will offer a pumpkin painting party on Oct. 29 from 2-4:30 p.m. and trick-or-treating at the library on Oct. 31 from 4:30-6 p.m.

Omak: The library will offer Halloween-themed story times for babies and toddlers on Oct. 23 and Oct. 30, and a pumpkin painting craft for kids on Oct. 24 at 3:30 p.m. The library will also be participating in the Omak Halloween Harvest Festival on Oct. 25 from 3-6 p.m. and the Unscary Halloween Parking Lot Party Oct. 30 from 3-6 p.m.

Oroville: The library will participate in the community trick-or-treat event on Oct. 31 from 3-5 p.m.

Pateros: The library will have a pumpkin painting party on Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will participate in the community Fall Festival on Oct. 30 from 4-6 p.m. at the Pateros School.

Twisp: The library will have a spooky story time on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.

Ferry County

Curlew: The library will offer an adult Halloween craft night at the Curlew Saloon on Oct. 16 at 5:30, offer a Halloween craft on Oct. 31 and participate in the community trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 31.
