Find your Joy at NCW Libraries During National Library Week!

Dear NCW Communities,

What brings you joy? For me, it’s driving through our beautiful region to visit our branch libraries, serving ice cream at the Peshastin Library’s annual summer social, and meeting with county commissioners to talk about what local libraries mean to rural communities.  Most of all, it brings me immeasurable joy to watch our staff show up, every single day, in every corner of our five-county service area, for the people they serve.

National Library Week, April 19-23, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark curiosity, and support lifelong learning. From books and digital resources to job support, early learning, and community programs, libraries play an essential role in helping communities thrive.

At NCW Libraries we are proud to welcome everyone. Whether you visit often, are new to the area, or haven’t stopped by in a while, this is a great time to explore what your library has to offer. From free Wi-Fi and programs for all ages to welcoming spaces to meet, gather, and connect, our 30 libraries, community bookmobile, Mail Order Library, and website are here for you.

Libraries are lifelines, connecting people to information, opportunity, and each other, especially in the small, rural communities that North Central Washington so special. None of this could happen without the people behind it: our remarkable staff and communities that believe libraries matter. This week, we celebrate all of you.

Whatever brings you joy, your library is here for you. What will you discover?

Sincerely,

Barbara Walters, Executive Director
