Will Montgomery, a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant who has returned home from Iraq, is assigned to the Army’s Casualty Notification service, giving notice to families of fallen soldiers. He is drawn to Olivia Pitterson, to whom he has delivers news of her husband’s death. Woody Harrelson was nominated for a Golden Globe and Oscar for Best Supporting Oscar for his role as Montgomery’s partner. Rated R for language and sexual content. Watch HERE.
During the Boer War, three Australian lieutenants are court-martialed for executing prisoners as a way of deflecting attention from war crimes committed by their superior officers. As a result of this landmark trial, the Australian Army stopped allowing its troops to be tried by British court-martial. The film won 10 Australian Film Institute awards including Best Film, Director, Leading Actor, and Cinematography. Watch HERE.
