We will be showing the film Neither Wolf Nor Dog in three of our library branches this month as part of our Beyond the Frame initiative.

The film is based on the award-winning novel by Kent Nerbern and stars Lakota elder Dave Bald Eagle. The story follows a Lakota elder who gets a white
author to go with him on a road trip through the Dakotas to open the author’s eyes to the elder’s experience and perspective on the world.

The film will be shown at:

  • Chelan Public Library, 1 p.m. Feb. 23
  • Quincy Public Library, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26
  • Wenatchee Public Library, 6 p.m. Feb. 28
  • Wenatchee Public Library, 6 p.m. Feb. 28

For the past several months, NCRL has partnered with other community organizations in an effort called Beyond the Frame to explore what it means to be
Native American — an initiative sparked by a traveling display of images by the famed photographer of Native Americans Edward S. Curtis. Guest
artists, musicians and speakers gave presentations at several libraries that explored Native American identity, race and resilience, art, and culture.
