Connect with authors online! This summer, we are bringing you an incredible line up of authors for our NCRL Virtual Reads program.

We are thrilled to host award-winning and bestselling author Jason Reynolds on Tuesday, August 25th at 4PM. Register now for this free event!

Jason Reynolds is a New York Times bestselling author, a Kirkus Prize winner, a two-time Walter Dean Myers Award winner, an NAACP Image Award winner, a National Book Award finalist, and the recipient of a Newbery Honor, a Printz Honor and multiple Coretta Scott King Award honors.

Reynolds writes novels and poetry for young people including: The Boy in the Black Suit(2015), All American Boys (2015), co-written with Brendan Kiely, As Brave as You (2016), the Track series [Ghost (2016), Patina (2017),  Sunny (2018), and Lu (2018)], Long Way Down (2017), Look Both Ways: A Tale Told in Ten Blocks (2019), and most recently he co-authored Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism, and You (2020) with Ibram X. Kendi

Reynolds is also the 2020-21 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. The National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature is an initiative of the Library of Congress, in partnership with Every Child a Reader and the Children’s Book Council. The Ambassador works to raise national awareness of the importance of young people’s literature as it relates to lifelong literacy, education and the development and betterment of the lives of young people.

All NCRL Reads events are free and open to the public. Events will be held through the Zoom digital meeting platform. To participate, register here. Once you register, an email will be sent to you with the Zoom event details. During each event, attendees will hear from the author and then have an opportunity to submit questions through the chat feature for the author to answer live.
