We invite everyone across NCW to read with us through the cold winter months.

Our Winter Reading initiative is all about reading — sharing our love of books, setting personal goals, and building and fostering a culture of reading in the communities we serve.

Winter Reading is all about reading for fun, setting personal reading goals, and building a culture of reading in our community. Whether it’s a beloved paperback, a digital eBook, an audiobook, magazine, or comic, we want to share our love of reading with the community and hope to inspire more folks to read for fun.

We want to make reading fun and easy for you! So, there is no need to sign up or turn in reading logs. Instead, just visit one of our libraries to pick up a bookmark tracker, so you can set your own goal and record your progress throughout the year.

If you like the idea of joining a reading challenge to keep yourself on track and contribute to a community reading goal,, we will be offering one online one on the Beanstack app for all ages. Track your reading and earn digital badges for meeting your goals.

Over the next two months, we will be sharing cozy book recommendations for adults in a variety of genres to inspire your reading lists. We will feature these mini collections on our Facebook and Instagram pages weekly.

So we encourage you to grab your favorite warm beverage, find a comfy place to sit, and embrace the love of reading this winter!
