Stand Against Racism

We join the @AmericanLibraryAssociation and public libraries across the country to stand against racism.

We lament the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and too many others. Here are some resources and reading lists that can help us all listen and learn about ways we can promote racial equity.

Color Of Change helps people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. Equal Justice Initiative

NAACP

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons. Racial Equity Tools (RET) is designed to support individuals and groups working to achieve racial equity. Southern Poverty Law Center

The SPLC is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.
