A new story book has been installed along the Jacobsen Preserve Trail in the Wenatchee foothills.

Walk the trail to read Possum’s Harvest Moon by Anne Hunter. The beautifully illustrated book tells the story of a possum and friends celebrating the last full moon before winter sets in.

A  StoryWalk® is a book presented page by page along a trail, bike path or in store windows to promote reading, exercise and an appreciation of nature. The Jacobsen Storywalk was created as a partnership between NCW Libraries and the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust.

To reach the Jacobsen trailhead, follow Western Avenue until it becomes Number 2 Canyon Road, then turn left on Skyline Drive. In about 500 feet, the road takes a sharp left and the Jacobsen trail sits above the curve. Park in the Wenatchee Racket and Athletic Club parking lot, in designated spots along the fence.

Take extra precautions and dress appropriately when using the trail in winter.
