Wenatchee Public Library is now open in a new temporary location in downtown Wenatchee.
The library relocated to a former bank building at the corner of Orondo and Wenatchee avenues while its Douglas Street home undergoes a $1.5 million renovation.
The temporary location has entrances off Wenatchee Avenue and Orondo Avenue. The main floor is home to fiction and nonfiction books, the computer lab,
and a few areas to sit and read or work. The second floor houses the children’s department. The bathrooms are in the basement.
Story times will be held at the new library location, but other larger programs, including many of the upcoming summer activities, will be held at Pybus
Public Market. The library’s STEM Club will move to NCRL’s Distribution Center at 16 N. Columbia St. for the next year.
The temporary library location has a little of everything — books, audiobooks, movies, ect. — but less of everything than it normally has.
Patrons can still pick up materials on hold there, and return books to the blue book drops.
The book return area is located just outside the front of the Orondo Street entrance.
The two-level parking lot can be reached from the north side of Orondo Street. There is also street parking along Orondo and Wenatchee avenues.
