This spring and summer, NCW Libraries is partnering with several organizations to offer storybook walks across the region.

In all of these walks, books are presented page by page along a trail as a unique way to promote reading, exercise and an appreciation of nature and the outdoors!

Here’s where you will find our walking-and-reading experiences in NCW:

Where: Jacobsen Preserve Trail, off Skyline Drive.

Book: The current book is pictures and descriptions of native flowers you will find along your walk.

Partner: Chelan-Douglas Land Trust.

Leavenworth

Where: Barn Beach Reserve. Map.

Book: Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring by Kenard Pak

Partners: Wenatchee River Institute, North Central Accountable Community of Health, and A Book for All Seasons.

Manson

Where: Chelan Valley Farms, 2393 Green Ave.

Book: It’s Spring! by Linda Glaser

Partners: Chelan Valley Farms and Manson High School

Tonasket

Where: Pipsissewa Trail, Bonaparte Recreation Area

Book: Will rotate monthly

Partner: Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest

Republic

Where: Ferry County Rail Trail, across the tressle bridge (after Summer Library Program begins in mid June)

Book: One Dog Canoe by Mary Casanova

Partner: Ferry County Rail Trail Partners

Curlew

Where: Ferry County Rail Trail, starting at the Curlew Library (after Summer Library Program begins in mid June)

Book: Explorers of the Wild by Cale Atkinson

Partner: Ferry County Rail Trail Partners

Kettle Falls

Where: Canyon Creek Trail #93 (Log Flume Interpretive Area)

Book: Will rotate every few weeks
