What does the Online Student Account offer?
An easy way for students to connect online with:
- Gratis online tutoring and homework help
- Expansive research resources and learning tools
- Downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, video streaming, and magazines
What if a student already has an NCW Libraries card?
Students who have a standard NCW Libraries card can continue using it as usual to check out physical and digital materials. Online Student Accounts are a supplement that improves access to online tools and resources that benefit all students in partnering school districts.
Who is eligible for an Online Student Account?
School districts within the library’s service area can partner with NCW Libraries to provide Online Student Accounts.
Does the Online Student Account work during the summer?
Yes! Students may use their Online Student Account through August of the current school year.

What is my Online Student Account login?
Each student has an individual login that is made up of their school’s unique prefix and the student’s ID number. For example, if your school’s prefix is 123456 and your student number is 00001234, enter 12345600001234.
Do Online Student Accounts have a PIN/password?
Yes, a student’s PIN/password is their student ID number.
How do I start using my Online Student Account?
Navigate to ncwlibraries.org to access our recursos en línea and borrow digital materials. In the library card number field, enter your school district’s prefix plus your school ID number (with no space). For example, if your school’s prefix is “0010” and your student number is “654321,” your Online Student Account is “0010654321.” Once logged in, you will have full access to the library’s online resources and digital library. Some digital resources, such as Kanopy, LinkedIn Learning, and Mango Languages require students to create a username and password to access the resources.

You can get help with the following issues:

- For help with your Online Student Account or PIN, talk to your teacher or school district representative.
How does the library protect my privacy?

Your child’s Online Student Account connects them to a wealth of online resources to support their schoolwork.
What is the difference between an Online Student Account and a standard library card?
Online Student Accounts provide access to online resources and digital materials only. Standard library cards provide access to physical materials in addition to all online resources and digital materials. Find out more about NCW Libraries’ cards.
Do all students have an Online Student Account?
Only students whose school district has partnered with NCW Libraries have Online Student Accounts. Students who meet the library’s eligibility requirements may also register for a full-access standard NCW Libraries card for additional resources. Saber más.

Gratis online tutoring and homework help, expansive research resources and learning tools, downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, video streaming, and magazines.
Does the library monitor what students are accessing?
No. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their students’ use of library resources.
Is there any financial risk to students having an Online Student Account?
What information about students do schools share with the NCW Libraries via the Online Student Accounts partnership?
Can parents/guardians opt out students from this program?
Yes. Contact your school’s office to opt your student(s) out of an Online Student Account.
Can homeschool students sign up for Online Student Accounts?
Online Student Accounts are possible because of formal partnerships between NCW Libraries and participating school districts. Homeschool students that meet the library’s eligibility requirements are encouraged to register for a standard NCW Libraries card to access everything the library has to offer! For Teachers
Student accounts make it easier than ever for teachers to incorporate digital resources from the public library into their curriculum.
How do I get Online Student Accounts for my school?
Online Student Accounts are offered at the district level. Teaching staff will need to connect with their district administration before reaching out to the library. Once staff have a school administrator on board, and preferably a member of their IT department willing to work on the project, please submit the contact request form to set up a meeting with the library.
What kind of assistance does the library provide to teachers and their students with Online Student Accounts?
Your local librarian can provide an introduction to relevant online resources and materials for teaching staff and/or students. To arrange a presentation, you can contact your sucursal local or send an email to info@ncwlibraries.org.
Can school district staff get a library account?
Teaching staff will also receive online library accounts when requested by the school district.
How do schools share student information with the library?
NCW Libraries and schools use a secure cloud-based file-transfer system called Sync. Sync keeps files safe, secure, and 100% private with end-to-end encryption.
How does the library protect student and teacher privacy?
All library accounts are private, and individual usage is not monitored by NCW Libraries.
Can new students get an account after school starts?
Yes! NCW Libraries will add Online Student Accounts upon request from the school district.
