This June, NCW Libraries is honored to stand alongside our community members, coworkers, friends and family members who take pride in their identity as members of the LGBTQ community, and we take our place among other allies as we celebrate Pride Month.

Libraries are for everyone, and while we work diligently and intentionally throughout the year to be inclusive, welcoming, and accessible for all members of our communities, Pride Month is a time to specifically highlight the journey of the LGTBQ community, the significant contributions of queer and transgender individuals to society, and the ongoing fight for full equality.

Throughout the month we will share blogs and social media posts that highlight books and resources in our collection featuring LGBTQ characters and life experiences, and we are hosting bestselling and award winning author, Laurie Frankel on Thursday, June 10 at 7PM to discuss her novel, This Is How It Always Is.

We hope you’ll join us in discovering new stories, learning more about our shared history, and celebrating voices and authors in the LGBTQ community.
