Throughout the month, NCW Libraries will be highlighting black authors, illustrators, and creators in blog posts, social media content, book displays, and book recommendations.
This February marks the 100th anniversary of the first recognized Black History celebration, initiated by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in February 1926. The 2026 theme is “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” honoring 100 years of celebrating the contributions, resilience, and history of African Americans.
