Spokane author, regional historian and naturalist Jack Nisbet will speak at several of our libraries next month.
He will be speaking about his latest book The Dreamer and the Doctor, which details the adventures of John and Carrie Leiberg, who homesteaded in the Idaho panhandle in 1885. John Leiberg did a landmark plant survey for the U.S. Forest Commission, a precursor for the U.S. Forest Service, that brought him to the Grand Coulee, Wenatchee and Leavenworth areas. Carrie Lieberg practiced frontier medicine.
Nisbet has been telling stories and writing books about interesting Pacific Northwest history for two decades.
He will be speaking at the following libraries:
