Learn about the native flowers that beautify NCW’s lowlands every spring — as you walk among them! — in a new StoryWalk in the Wenatchee foothills.

Trail sign“Wildflowers of the Wenatchee Foothills” has been installed along the Jacobsen Preserve Trail, detailing flowers such as the iconic Arrowleaf balsamroot and Sulphur lupine that are blooming right now. The informational book is presented page by page along the trail to promote reading, exercise and an appreciation and better understanding of nature.

The Jacobsen StoryWalk was created as a partnership between NCW Libraries and the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust.

To reach the Jacobsen trailhead, follow Western Avenue until it becomes Number 2 Canyon Road, then turn left on Skyline Drive. In about 500 feet, the road takes a sharp left and the Jacobsen trail sits above the curve. Park in the Wenatchee Racket and Athletic Club parking lot, in designated spots along the fence.
