Your library card grants you 24/7 access to books, movies, music and more on Hoopla, an online streaming service.
What is Hoopla
Hoopla is a service that offers free online and mobile access to thousands of ebooks, e-audiobooks, movies, TV shows, comics, music and more. You can borrow, instantly stream and download content 24 hours a day. Items return automatically when they are due.
How do I create an account?
All you need to get started is your library card number and an email address. Get started here.
NCW Libraries library card holders can get 10 instant borrow and four flex borrows each month. An instant borrow is one you can stream or download right away. A flex borrow is a popular newly released item that you can reserve and may have to wait a short time to borrow. In addition, throughout the month of February Hoopla is offering a collection of bonus borrows that don’t count against your monthly limits.
Is Hoopla easy to use?
You can easily search Hoopla for specific titles or authors, or search by genre, format (ebook, movie, ect), release date, languages, series, and more. If you’re not sure what you want to read or watch, Hoopla also curates special collections and regularly highlights books and music, which are featured in a scrolling bar across the top of your viewing window. For example, you can browse the Black History Month collection, Valentine’s Day Romance music CDs, Movies of the Month, or Monthly Book Club Recommendations.
Can my kids use Hoopla?
Hoopla has a Kids Mode which limits available content to that appropriate for children 12 and under. Go into your account settings to activate Kids Mode. Hoopla offers a wide range of books, movies and music for children, including popular series such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, Octonauts, The Cat in the Hat, The Wild Kratts, Caillou, and more.
