We invite you to engage your creativity this winter by learning a new art that can also lift your spirits! Kawaii is a Japanese word that broadly translates into “cuteness” in English. Learning to draw in the kawaii style is simple and fun for all ages and can be a kind of “happy place” in a hectic or busy day.

Kawaii drawings are generally identified as simple black-line characters with minimal features, rounded edges and youthful appearances (think Hello Kitty and Pikachu). They often illicit warm, happy, calm thoughts, and drawing cute characters can make the process of learning a new skill more enjoyable.
