The Twisp Library will temporarily close at the end of service on Saturday, February 14 to support an upcoming construction project at the Methow Valley Community Center.

What’s happening?

The Methow Valley Community Center (MVCC) is planning a series of energy-efficiency and comfort upgrades to the building, including:

    • Replacing HVAC systems
    • Upgrading internet service and electrical systems
    • Adding insulation to exterior walls

To allow construction crews safe access to interior and exterior walls, the library will be closed for the duration of the project.

This work is not part of NCW Libraries’ Reimagining Spaces Project and is not being funded by NCW Libraries. The project is led by MVCC and supported through grant funding, with the possibility of limited NCW Libraries funding to adjust electrical and data locations as needed.

Closure details at a glance

  • Last Day of Service: Saturday, February 14
  • Expected Re-Opening: Mid-May (timeline subject to change)

During the closure, patrons are invited to visit the Winthrop Public Library for continued access to library services including borrowing and returning materials, attending programs, and more.

While the Twisp Library is closed, Twisp patrons’ home library will be temporarily set to the Winthrop Library, which will serve as the primary nearby location for in-person services including picking up holds. Check out our FAQ’s for information on how to receive items through Mail Order.

All NCW Libraries digital resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, and other online resources are available 24/7 on our website.

We are deeply grateful to partner with the Methow Valley Community Center and for their continued investment in improving this shared space. The library is just one part of the MVCC, a vital community hub that brings people together. These improvements reflect the MVCC’s commitment to stewarding a building that service the entire Methow Valley. We look forward to welcoming the community back this spring and encourage everyone to learn more about the MVCC and all they offer.
