Connect with authors online! This Summer, we are bringing you an incredible line up of authors for our NCRL Virtual Reads program.

We are thrilled to host National Geographic Adventurer of the Year Heather “Anish” Anderson on Thursday, June 25 at 4 p.m. Register now for this free event!

From record setting hiker to author and professional speaker, Anderson inspires people to live life to the fullest with mindfulness and courage. She weaves stories of challenges and lessons learned deftly on the page and in person.

On September 24, 2015, she set the self-supported speed record for hiking along the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia; 54 days, 7 hours and 48 minutes. Two years earlier, she set a record on the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650 mile path that runs between Mexico and Canada along some of the most unforgiving terrain in the western United States. Her experience on the PCT is documented in her book, Thirst: 2600 Miles to Home, available as an eBook through our Overdrive service and as an eAudiobook through our Hoopla service.
