Reimagining Spaces – Soap Lake
Situated on Main Street in the heart of downtown, the Soap Lake Library provides convenient access to programs for adults and children, as well as a robust collection of physical materials. Local staff curate resources that serve the local Russian and Ukranian populations, as well as materials that preserve local history.
The mid-century modern design of the building provides an open and accessible feel despite a smaller building size. The NCW Libraries Reimagining Spaces Project will be the first major refresh to the building since its construction in 1968.
Improvements may include upgrades:
- New flooring and paint throughout
- Improved service point
- Updated shelving and furniture
- Improved lighting and signage
UPDATE! The Soap Lake Reimagining is complete and open to the public! The newly refreshed space features the subtle earth tones of the “Retreat” design direction which was preferred by members of the Soap Lake. This design is reflected in the new paint, carpet and furniture fabrics. Additional improvements include all new shelving, a public use display TV, a staff office area, and a soon-to-be installed reservable public meeting room.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the space!
